Learning latest styles

Tuesday 20 August 2013

Learning the latest hair colouring techniques from a national expert was a summer holidays training opportunity for staff and trainees at 5th Avenue and BROOKS.

The private salon in Howard Street and the Bedford College training spa on the High Street welcomed Kelly Scott, Redken Artist to demonstrate the skills required to keep clients looking up to the minute. Kelly is also a brand ambassador and her work represented England on the catwalk at the Redken Symposium, Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas. She performed in front of 12,000 stylists and salon owners across the globe at the event.

Those invited to take part in the exclusive training opportunity were qualified stylists, apprentices and trainees from both popular outlets.

5th Avenue owner, business award-winner and apprentice employer Kerry Cash said: “We love keeping our staff up to date with the latest techniques and were delighted to share this special event with our friends at the Bedford College professional training centre BROOKS. I am very grateful to Nikki Richard at BROOKS for helping to make this idea happen.”

BROOKS is a working salon and spa where young people gain real-life working experience before going on to become apprentices with businesses like 5th Avenue – so earning while learning.

*Redken is staging a special event for customers at 5th Avenue,  which is one of only 10 salons in the region, selected to launch a new Diamond Oil product. Places can be booked for Tuesday September 3rd by ringing 01234 341377.
